Meet Dr. Matthew Milowsky, Chapel Hill Walk to End Bladder Cancer Ambassador

BCAN is proud to announce that Dr. Matthew Milowsky will serve as a Chapel Hill Walk to End Bladder Cancer Ambassador, along with Leslie Watts.  The Walk will take place on May 2, 2020.

Dr. Milowsky is the Section Chief of the Genitourinary Oncology Service and Co-Director of the Urologic Oncology Program at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. He joined UNC to lead the Genitourinary Oncology Research Program with a focus on translational science and clinical trials for patients with urologic cancers.

Prior to UNC, Dr. Milowsky was an Assistant Member of the Genitourinary Oncology Service at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. Dr. Milowsky completed a fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology at the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Medical College of Cornell University.

After completing his fellowship training, he remained on staff at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell and focused on the treatment of patients with and research related to genitourinary malignancies. He subsequently joined the Genitourinary Oncology Service at Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and has continued to pursue research related to urologic cancers with a focus on the development of novel therapies for patients with advanced bladder and other urothelial cancers.

Dr. Milowsky was recently appointed Clinic Medical Director at the North Carolina Cancer Hospital (NCCH) serving as both a member of the NCCH’s Executive Committee and Co-Chair of the Operations Committee working to streamline and improve the clinical operations for patients.
