His surgical expertise includes the ability to perform open, endoscopic, and minimally invasive (laparoscopic and robotic) urologic procedures.

Dr. Stamatakis was born and raised in Ellicott City, Maryland, where he developed a passion for sports, fishing, and Greek culture. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia, where he studied biology and religious studies. Dr. Stamatakis subsequently attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he graduated magna cum laude and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He then moved to Houston, Texas, where he completed his urologic residency and fellowship in endourology/minimally invasive surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine. He then returned to the National Cancer Institute, where he completed an internationally recognized fellowship in urologic oncology.

When not working, Dr. Stamatakis enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, which usually includes a long hike or a trip to the pool.
