Gerald McNamara

Gerald McNamara is a bladder cancer survivor living in New York City with his wife, Renee Petrofes. He is a Director and Chief Investment Officer for the Freedom Together Foundation,  a national philanthropy focused on building a deeper and broader pro-democracy movement.

Prior to this, he was a Managing Director of Goldman Sachs & Co. in their Private Wealth Management (PWM) Division. He joined Goldman Sachs in 1980. He previously served as a Trustee at Learning Leaders, and was a member of the Prep for Prep Associates Council. Gerry earned a BA in Economics from Williams College in 1977 where he was on the Varsity squash team. While at Williams, he spent his junior year attending Doshisha University’s Associated Kyoto Program in Kyoto, Japan, and traveled extensively throughout that country. He received an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1980.
