Kira Bloechl

Patient Engagement and Advocacy Program Manager

Kira recently earned her Master of Public Health from the University of Alabama and is a Certified Health Education Specialist. She brings a deep commitment to patient engagement, community-driven advocacy, and developing programs that support equitable access to care.

As part of her graduate training, Kira worked with BCAN to better understand the experiences of women navigating bladder cancer. She helped design and analyze a national survey, using both data and personal stories to inform care and advocacy. In her new role as Program Manager, she will lead patient-focused education and advocacy initiatives, manage key projects, and help translate patient experiences into meaningful policy and programming.

For the past 10 years, Kira has volunteered as a Parent Liaison at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she supports parents managing ketogenic dietary therapy for pediatric epilepsy. She provides education, answers questions, and helps families feel more confident navigating a complex and often overwhelming treatment path.

Outside of work, Kira enjoys life with her husband and three teenage boys, spending time cheering them on in their many activities. She’s an active volunteer in her local community, serving with the PTSA and supporting the school marching band, always finding ways to stay connected and give back.
