Nala Collins

Research Pawject Manager

Nala, BCAN’s Research Pawject Manager, is an 8-year-old German Shorthair Pointer who is equal parts couch potato extraordinaire and zoomies-master. She brings many years of endless energy and puppy eyes. With an impeccable nose for sniffing out snacks (and, of course, trouble), Nala is on a never-ending quest to locate all hidden food, toys, squirrels, birds, and deer. When not performing expert-level searches, this tail-wagging dynamo spends her days perfecting the art of zooming around the yard at warp speed or sun-bathing.

Special skills include:

  • Super Sniffer: Can detect other animals 100 feet away and pointing them out with her paw. Seriously, it’s like magic.
  • Fetch Aficionado: Capable of retrieving anything that fits in her mouth—just don’t ask her to return it right away.
  • Cuddle Champion: Knows exactly how to get ear scratches and belly rubs, and how to look extra adorable while doing it.
  • Guard Dog: Keep watch over the yard and home from any potential invaders.

Likes: Squirrels, birds, deer, chasing after balls or frisbees (and sometimes ignoring them), rolling in the grass, sunbathing, and giving her human the sassiest side-eye.

Dislikes: Being told “No,” the vacuum cleaner, and bladder cancer!

Motto: “Run first, ask questions later (unless it’s about food).”
