Scott M. Gilbert, MD, MS

Dr. Gilbert is an Associate Member in Urology at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Tampa, Florida. He was previously Assistant Professor in the Department of Urology at the University of Florida with a joint appointment in the Department of Epidemiology and Health Policy Research.  He is a graduate of Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons and completed residency training at the Columbia University Medical Center.  Following residency, he completed fellowships in Urologic Oncology and Health Services Research at the University of Michigan.  Dr. Gilbert’s clinical practice in urologic oncology includes an interest and focus in the surgical and interdisciplinary management of bladder cancer.  He also serves as the medical director of the University of Florida Multidisciplinary Urologic Oncology Program.  His research focuses on health services and clinical outcomes, cancer survivorship and health-related quality of life assessment among bladder cancer survivors.  He has authored greater than 30 peer reviewed manuscripts in the area of urologic oncology and cancer survivorship. Dr. Gilbert is a past American Urological Association Foundation Scholar.  The American Urological Association Foundation, the NIH-sponsored Urologic Diseases of America Project, and the American Cancer Society have funded his research.
