Trinity J. Bivalacqua, MD, PhD

Trinity J. Bivalacqua  is a Professor of Urology and Oncology at the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, Division of Urology and the Director of Urology Oncology and GU Service Line in the Cancer Center.  He received his undergraduate degree, medical and PhD (pharmacology) graduate degrees from Tulane University and completed a Urology residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.  He completed a Urology Care Foundation Post-Doctoral Fellowship.

Dr. Bivalacqua is actively involved in resident and medical student education.  He has a clinical sub-specialty interest in prostate and bladder cancer as well as sexual dysfunction.  He has a basic translational research lab focusing on urothelial cancer and regenerative medicine which is supported by peer-reviewed grand funding.  He is a recipient of the AUA Rising Star Award, a member of the AUA Leadership Program, and was awarded the Gold Cystoscope from the AUA.  He is actively involved in committees for the Society of Urologic Oncology (SUO), Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA), and the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN).
