Valérie Aldana, MPH

Senior Research Project Manager

Valerie Aldana is BCAN’s Senior Research Project Manager, where she oversees the operational implementation of BCAN’s research and grant programs across the organization’s research portfolio. In this role, she manages post-award activities including award activation, deliverable tracking, progress monitoring, and outcomes reporting. In addition, she coordinates grant program operations and contributes to the development and administration of funding initiatives, working closely with investigators, institutional partners, and internal departments to manage awards and program activities. She also leverages the outcomes and data she tracks to translate award results and statistics into meaningful impact measures that can be shared with BCAN’s stakeholders and broader community. 

Valerie’s professional experience focuses on public health research with an emphasis on oncology and health disparities. She has contributed to research and health equity initiatives through work with organizations including UsAgainstAlzheimer’s and the Florida Cohort Study. 

Prior to joining BCAN, Valerie served as a Senior Research Associate at the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, where she supported oncology research programs and clinical research operations, including coordination of multi-site and international studies.
