Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network Mourns Passing of James Lipton

The Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network joins others in mourning the death of “Inside the Actors Studio” host James Lipton.  Mr. Lipton died of bladder cancer on Monday, March 2 at his home in New York.  He conducted insightful and compelling interviews with hundreds of actors and entertainment industry stars for nearly 25 years on Bravo’s “Inside the Actors Studio.”

“Millions of Americans learned so much from Mr. Lipton’s insightful interviews over nearly a quarter century,” said Andrea Maddox-Smith, CEO of the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network.  “This is a sad occasion for many and also an opportunity to recognize that anyone can get bladder cancer.”

Bladder cancer is among the most frequently-diagnosed cancers in the United States, yet one of the least recognized and understood.   More than 81,000 Americans will be diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2020, and nearly 18,000 people will lose their lives to this terrible disease.  Bladder cancer is the single most expensive cancer to treat over a patient’s lifetime, creating a financial burden for those who live with this disease.
