Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network Welcomes Duncan Alexander to Its Board of Directors

(November 19, 2020) Bethesda, MD – The Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN) is pleased to announce that Duncan Alexander has been elected to its Board of Directors.

“Mr. Alexander has been a leader in the business community and brings valued expertise to the Board in addition to his history of giving back through philanthropic activities,” said Gerald C. McNamara, Chairman of the BCAN Board of Directors.  “We are delighted that he is part of our Board.”

Mr. Alexander has served as the President of American Live Stock Insurance Company as well as Harding and Harding. At their peak, these companies operated in all fifty states as well as Australia and South Africa.  These experiences led to extensive involvement with medical research and scholarships at veterinary schools.   Additionally, Mr. Alexander’s philanthropic activities have involved serving with the American Association of Equine Practitioners, McGraw Wildlife, and the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley.

Mr. Alexander said of this appointment “I am honored to have been selected to be part of the Board of such a wonderful organization.  As a bladder cancer survivor, I know firsthand the value of the services and support BCAN offers to the bladder cancer community.”

Mr. Alexander’s appointment is effective immediately.

The Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network’s (BCAN’s) mission is to increase public awareness about bladder cancer, advance bladder cancer research and, provide educational and support services for the bladder cancer community.
