Ask the Experts 2023

On May 24, 2023, BCAN’s Director of Research, Rebecca Johnson, moderated a fascinating and informative discussion about the present and future of bladder cancer diagnosis and treatment. The two experts were Dr. Philip Abbosh of the Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia and Dr. Tracy Rose, an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.

Meet the Experts

Tracy Rose, MD, MPH

Phillip Abbosh, MD, PhD, is board-certified by the American Board of Urology. Dr. Abbosh received both his Doctor of Medicine and his Doctorate in Cellular and Integrative Physiology from Indiana University. He is a recipient of a BCAN 2018 Young Investigator Award and a recipient of a Urology Care Foundation Research Scholar Award. His research interests include molecular, immunological, and microbial correlates to complete response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in bladder cancer.

Tracy Rose, MD, MPH, focuses on the care of patients with genitourinary cancers, including bladder, kidney, prostate, and testicular cancers.  She has extensive training and expertise in clinical trial development and implementation, clinical research methods, public health leadership, and translational science related to immunotherapy combinations and biomarker development. She is a recipient of a 2017 BCAN Young Investigator Award.
