Kristen’s Bladder Cancer Diagnosis at 22

At the young age of 22, Kristen faced a devastating diagnosis. Due to a year-long struggle to have her symptoms taken seriously, she persisted in seeking answers. Numerous doctors dismissed her symptoms as typical “women issues.” One doctor even claimed that bladder cancer was impossible due to her age. Battling bladder cancer is hard, but being overlooked was maddening.

While bladder cancer is more common in men, studies have revealed that women often present with the disease at a more advanced stage due to delays in diagnosis. Kristen’s story highlights the importance of robust self-advocacy and determination.
