Meet the Kansas City Walk to End Bladder Cancer Ambassadors

(October 31, 2019) Today, the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN) announced the Ambassadors for the Kansas City 2020 Walk to End Bladder Cancer that will take place on June 13, 2020.   Walk Ambassadors support patients and loved ones in their communities who have been impacted by bladder cancer, the sixth-most frequently diagnosed cancer in the U.S., and also help connect them with bladder cancer educational and support resources from BCAN.

Walk Ambassadors also help BCAN raise awareness, raise critical funds to help move bladder cancer research forward and raise the spirits of those impacted by the sixth-most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States.  Our Kansas City Ambassadors will also help attract participants to the Kansas City Walk to End Bladder Cancer that will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Shawnee Mission Park.

The 2020 Kansas City Walk to End Bladder Cancer Ambassadors are:

  • John Taylor, MD, a professor and director of basic urologic research at the University of Kansas Medical Center
  • Alexandra Dahlgren, a clinical researcher coordinator at the department of Urology at the University of Kansas Medical Center
  • Katie Glavin, CCRP, a clinical researcher coordinator at the University of Kansas Medical Center
  • Leah Miller, MS, a clinical researcher coordinator at the University of Kansas Medical Center

We are grateful to our Walk Ambassadors for building bridges to the Kansas City community and raising awareness of this disease.  Increased awareness leads to earlier diagnoses, which save lives.
