BCAN to Offer Two $300,000 Bladder Cancer Research Innovation Awards in 2023

The Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN) is pleased to announce that it will again offer two Bladder Cancer Research Innovation Awards in 2023. This marks the third consecutive year that BCAN will grant two Innovation Awards to support experienced investigators dedicated to produce significant advances in our understanding of bladder cancer. Both awarded proposals will be funded for $300,000 for two years.

The BCAN Bladder Cancer Research Innovation Awards support projects with great potential to produce breakthroughs in our understanding of bladder cancer. The proposed research may be basic, translational, clinical or epidemiological and must have direct applicability and relevance to bladder cancer. Proposals for innovative projects that will develop preliminary data necessary to prepare and submit a competitive research grant application to a major funding agency are encouraged.

These awards are available to full time, independent investigators affiliated with non-profit academic, medical or research institutions within the United States or Canada. Eligible applicants include investigators who have experience in other areas of cancer or biomedical and health science research with promising approaches that can be applied to bladder cancer research.

Awardees are expected to attend the annual Bladder Cancer Think Tank meeting in August 2024 and are required to present the results of the funded research during the 2025 Think Tank meeting.

Interested applicants must submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) by January 12, 2023, at 5:00pm ET and must be invited to submit a full application.
